ORGANIZATION

Washington Area Fire Protection and Rescue Services
are comprised of three entities:

Washington Fire Department, Washington Volunteer Fire Company
and Washington Community Fire Protection District.

All three entities work together to provide fire and life safety services
to the citizens of both the City of Washington
and the Washington Community Fire Protection District.

  • The Washington Volunteer Fire Company (W.V.F.C.) has been a professional volunteer service since 1852 providing the manpower to serve and protect the citizens of both the Washington Fire Department and the Washington Community Fire Protection District. The W.V.F.C. is responsible for responding to incidents within both districts, ensuring that all equipment and apparatus are in ready status, maintaining all stations and providing guidance to both agencies for our ever growing communities.

The Washington Volunteer Fire Company membership is comprised of two divisions: fire fighter and administration. Both divisions work together to ensure that we are providing the highest quality of service we strive to for our citizens.

While both divisions can serve on any of our committees, the fire fighter division is responsible for meeting our training requirements and responding to incidents. Training to become a member in the fire fighter division requires a Missouri Division of Fire Safety, Firefighter I and II state certifications within 2-years of joining. The W.V.F.C.’s training committee will ensure that you have the opportunity to receive this training and certification.

The W.V.F.C is proud of its 80+ members and is always accepting new applications for either the firefighter or administration division. We look forward to hearing from you and an opportunity for you to join our company.
